The only Viera those kids have ever seen, Tenmachi had a hard time finding friends, and sought solace in books, until he fell in love with magitek.Eleven years after his arrival to the orphanage, one of the 99 found him inside the library, trying to figure out how to read by himself. Master Runa, head engineer of the Labyrinthos, took the child in as an apprentice.Though he couldn't care less about certain subjects, all the others related to engineering and magitek were utmost fun to him. He graduated fast, soon branching into medicine purely to get a license to wield Nouliths. Lastly, on his 22th birthday, he submitted a thesis and won his archon mark, before leaving Sharlayan in a ship to Limsa Lominsa.

Luckily, he didn't. A traveling witch found the discarded boy, and sensing the pulsating power within him, decided to teach him the ways of magick, so he'd be able to control himself and never hurt anyone ever again.She gave him a new name and taught him how to survive in the wild, how to bargain for better prices, how to recognize edible plants and how to concoct herbal medicines, and they travelled together for many years, just the two of them, hopping from village to village across Hydaelyn.But once day, his Master left and never came back. Coincidentally, the Garleans invaded Eorza, planning to bring down the lesser moon to the battlefield. From it, an ancient primal hatched, and thanks to heroes no one can remember the realm was saved...Five years later, now a grown man, he tired of waiting for his master, and decided to go after her instead, boarding the first carriage to Ul'dah he could find.

The garleans posed a threat as they had to share already limited resources for survival. The viera found themselves weaker and weaker, killed and starved thanks to their new neighbor. They sought solace in religion, believing the world revolved in cycles, and a new one was to begin after so much pain.Ultimately, they couldn't wait much longer. The Leader crafted a plan, aided by whispers from the shadows, to summon their God Jormungandr to deliver them from their torture. With aether crystals and a fitting vessel, they could finally be free.Once they gave birth to a well suited baby, he was to be raised with all luxuries affordable to strenghten the vessel for their God. And so, a white-haired viera baby was chosen, only known for his white (Weiss) hair since vessels require no names or identities of their own.He studied religion, trained the sword, and soon became an idol of hope for all within the tribe. Twenty-one years later, the tribe leader perfomed the summoning.Though succesful, it seems Weiss body wasn't strong enough to house the World Serpent. Seconds after the summoning, his vision grew red and he died on the spot. What happened to the tribe afterwards was lost to history, but this much is certain: they vanished from Ilsabard, just like Weiss.But with his soul tainted with the presence of a Primal, he wasn't able to move on or reincarnate. For six hundred years he (and Jormundangr) drifted through the aetherical sea, until a certain voidsent found them. Known as The Necromancer, a powerful voidsent who enjoys playing with the boundaries of life and death, and decided to ressurect Weiss into a proper body that could fit the Primal energy within.Through bringing Weiss back to life, it formed a contract with him. He is free to roam and do as he pleases in Hydaelyn, as long as he brings souls often for The Necromancer, specially souls tainted with darkness.By stroke of fate, the newly ressurected Weiss stepped in Eorzea right as Bahamut descended into the land, triggering strange memories and a calling voice beyond his understanding.By coincidence or fate once more, he met the Warrior of Light in the Mare Lamentorum after being sent there by The Necromancer, who did not wish for Zodiark to come back. He joined the fight against Zodiark and thus became an ally to the Warrior of Light.
